Online, telephone, and in-person counselling and psychotherapy service based in West Cumbria with services in Leeds and London

About West Lakes Counselling

Talking to a Counsellor here at WLC will help you to explore those difficult feelings that you perhaps are unable to discuss with family or friends. You perhaps may feel that they may judge you or that you are burdening them if you express certain issues — counselling can help to take this pressure away. You will be provided with a safe space to talk to a trained professional.

We offer our services in Cumbria, Leeds and London, and across the UK.

Through engaging in a Talking Therapy, you are taking your first step in moving your life forward. You will be given the tools to inaugurate changes in your life that will bring about much needed growth that you perhaps need at this stage in your life.

All of our Counsellors/Psychotherapists are qualified to at least Diploma level, and up to Master's Degree level in their chosen therapeutic modality.

Counselling offers an opportunity to talk to a trained professional about your concerns, or worries, in a safe environment free of criticism and the fear of being judged. It is a time for you to be able to express your emotions and explore those situations that may be causing you problems.

Counsellors will not offer you advice, nor tell you what to do, but we will support you in working out for yourself what you want or need to bring about positive changes.

Good practice

Our Counsellors/Psychotherapists are qualified and receive regular supervision and are accountable for the quality of their work with clients. They are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) or another registered membership body.

All of our Counsellors adhere to their membership code of ethics and guidelines for good practice.
